Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA is committed to adapting its education to the challenges of a constantly changing world, and places a strong emphasis on internationalization.
Convinced of the intellectual enrichment that intercultural exchange brings and to support cultural diversity, the institute opens its courses to international students.

- To prepare for the Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA diploma, you must pass an entrance exam.

- A B2+ level in the language of instruction for the program you are interested in is required. This level will enable you to fully engage in your Education Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA.

Free-Mover Program
The Free-Mover program gives access to Sciences Po's undergraduate course offer.<br>Therefore, the postgraduate courses are not available to participants in the program.
Program participants have access to the same course offerings as exchange students. You can find them in this online folder.
Languages of instruction:
French and/or English.
Periods:
One or two semesters of the academic year.
First semester: fall semester (early September to mid-January)
Second semester: spring semester (early January to mid-May)
Please note.
One year of the Free-Mover program is not equivalent to one year of undergraduate year at Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA.
To apply, you must meet the following requirements:
- Have completed 2 years of university studies (120 ECTS credits)
- Have a B2.2 level of French or English (CEFR), i.e., be able to write in an academic style, give presentations, and debate in the language of instruction.

Applications must be submitted by email.
The following documents must be provided:
- Cover letter
- Transcripts from the previous two academic years,
- Resume,
- A letter of recommendation signed by a professor from the home university,
- A copy of your passport/ID card (if you are a European citizen),
- English and/or French language certification: B2+ or equivalent (see table above)
Deadlines :
- April 30: for first semester (autumn) or full year (autumn + spring)
- October 15: for the second semester (spring)

Tuition fees for international students
Registration fees
Since 2016, Sciences Po Grenoble – UGA has been working to make its tuition fees more equitable. The decision taken by our Board of Directors on December 9, 2025 continues the process of making our programs more accessible. Tuition fees for students preparing for the institute's degree are adjusted according to several criteria.

In addition: Student Life and Campus Contribution (CVEC)
The only other mandatory university cost is the CVEC, the amount of which changes every year. For 2026, it amounts to €105.
Transportation, sports and cultural activities, meals at the university restaurant, and many other things are subsidized by the French government. Professors very rarely ask students to buy textbooks.

It does not apply to students in the Free Mover program.In the event of non-payment of tuition fees,the studentis not permitted to·attend classes or take exams.

Scholarships for excellence
Scholarships are available for international students wishing to apply for our graduate programs.
The three types of funding are:
- Eiffel Excellence Scholarships (CampusFrance)
- IDEX Scholarships from the University of Grenoble Alpes (English version here)
- Scholarships from the Graduate School@ of the University of Grenoble Alpes
These funds cannot be combined and are independent of each other.

Each of these funding programs has different requirements, procedures, and timelines.

Eiffel Scholarships
The France Excellence Eiffel scholarship program, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aims to support foreign students in their Education programs at the master's and doctoral levels.
Scholarship applications are made by applying to the institutions offering the Education by the student.

At Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA, only graduate programs (master's level) are eligible. You can find the full list here.
No applications for doctoral programs will be accepted.
Application period: Fall 2025 (schedule set by Campus France).
The campaign for the 2026 school year is over.
IdEx Scholarships

Welcome to refugees
Aware of the issues related to population displacement and the international context, Sciences Po Grenoble – UGA is committed to offering a welcome procedure for refugee students, beneficiaries of subsidiary protection, or those currently seeking asylum.
Are you in this situation and interested in our training courses? Here's what we offer.
- An initial interview to discuss and determine your student project. The welcome is managed by the International Relations Department, in conjunction with the Undergraduate Studies Department, to jointly validate the study project if necessary.
- First option: participate in the Free-Mover program.
This program provides a solid and comprehensive foundation of knowledge (political science, economics, law, history, sociology) to continue the following year in the best possible conditions.
It can be taken for one semester (1 or 2) or for the entire year, depending on the student's arrival date at Sciences Po Grenoble – UGA.
The program also offers courses in methodology, civilization, and French as a foreign language, which are common to all international students. Some courses are integrated with those taken by French students in order to improve your language skills and help you integrate more quickly.
- Second option: take the entrance exam for one of our programs.
Undergraduate program (entrance exam for first year)
POLIS program - undergraduate (POLIS exam)
Postgraduate program (entrance exam for fourth year). Only accessible if the applicant has sufficient academic background.
- At the same time, Sciences Po Grenoble – UGA offers the opportunity to take online language courses through the Erasmus+ OLS program.
