Lecture by Benoît HAMON, President of the French Chamber of Social and Solidarity Economy (ESS)

ESS France is the representative organization for the social and solidarity economy at the national level. It brings together all sectors of the social and solidarity economy and represents their interests to public authorities and the general public in order to support the development of economic models with social and collective objectives.
This conference will be an opportunity to discover how ESS France represents and promotes the social and solidarity economy and its models to public authorities and the general public. 

Conference organized by Amélie ARTIS, Professor of Economics, member of the Pacte laboratory, Head of the DEES program at Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA, Head of the thematic program at the UGA STEEN Graduate School (Societies in economic, econological, and digital transition).

Geopolitical and strategic challenges in the semiconductor sector: comparative perspectives from National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) and Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA)

Organized by the University of Grenoble Alpes (UGA), this tech&fest-certified conference will be held in English and attended by Professor W. John Kao, President of NTHU University in Taiwan, and Professor Yassine Lakhnech, President of UGA.

Semiconductors are now at the heart of global digital and industrial transformation, raising major challenges in terms of technological sovereignty, economic competitiveness, and strategic security. Taiwan occupies a central place in this context, both through its industrial excellence and the density of its research, Education innovation ecosystems, foremost among which is Hsinchu, Taiwan's semiconductor epicenter. For its part, Grenoble Alpes, a true hub for microelectronics and Europe's Silicon Valley, accounts for nearly a quarter of French jobs in the sector and is home to numerous cutting-edge laboratories, underscoring its strategic role on various scales. The presence of Professor Kao, President of NTHU—a world-renowned university in this field—provides unique and first-rate insight into these major issues.

Research, Training, Innovation: the three pillars of sovereignty.

Get ready to celebrate innovation on February 4 and 5, 2026, at the third edition of tech&fest, organized by Ebra Events and Le Dauphiné Libéré.

On this occasion, the University of Grenoble Alpes and its partners, the editorial staff of News Tank Education and Research, Campus Matin, and Elsevier, are pleased to invite you to participate in a conference on the theme: Research, Training, Innovation: the three levers of sovereignty.

During this conference, exclusive data on the performance of the UGA's research and innovation ecosystem will be unveiled, representatives from Grenoble's academic research community will discuss how their institutions contribute to the impact of the Grenoble region and to national sovereignty, and representatives from Grenoble-based startups and technology companies will also share their vision of technological sovereignty and the importance ofrelying on research-intensive universities such as UGA. A representative from the General Secretariat for Investment will also discuss how this department, which reports to the Prime Minister and oversees the France 2030 Plan, contributes to the growth of French sovereignty through its funding, particularly for research-intensive universities.

Special screening at the Méliès cinema of "Le Gâteau du Président" (The President's Cake) in the presence of Daniel Meier

The Méliès Cinema is hosting a special screening of the film Le Gâteau du Président (The President's Cake), a poignant comedy-drama set in Saddam Hussein's Iraq. The film follows 9-year-old Lamia, who is given the daunting task of baking a cake to celebrate the president's birthday. Accompanied by her friend Saeed, she sets out to find the necessary ingredients. This seemingly innocuous quest reveals the harshness of daily life and the violence of an oppressive regime.

A special session not to be missed, featuring Daniel Meier, Doctor of Political Science at Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA, Junior Professor Chair on Borders in the Middle East, and member of the CERDAP laboratory.
