Politics and International Studies (POLIS)
Sciences Po Grenoble is an independent grande école and part of Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA), one of the top 100 universities in the Shanghai ranking and the best French university outside Paris. Long reserved for French speakers, the Sciences Po Grenoble-UGA degree is now open to English speakers.
Sciences Po Grenoble-UGA is a 5-year degree: first cycle in 3 years / second cycle in two years.
The first cycle
1st and 3rd years at Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA + 2nd year abroad at a partner university.
During the three years of the first cycle, students take courses 100% in English while learning French. They then enter the second cycle at Sciences Po Grenoble-UGA, with courses in French or English (depending on language level).
- 1st and 3rd years :
Compulsory and optional courses in English.
Possibility of taking courses in French, depending on level.
French as a foreign language.

Application criteria
- A high school diploma from a non-French school and/or transcript of grades from the last two years of high school or secondary school.
- Advanced or independent English (B2+)
- TOEFL 95 / IELTS 6,5 / TOEIC "listening and reading" (945) & "speaking and writing" (360) / Cambridge Certificate B2 minimum

A good knowledge of French is appreciated but not compulsory.

How to apply
First stage: application (January 15 to April 12, 2024)
Applicants must submit :
Personal and academic dossier including CV in English, transcripts translated into French or English,
extracurricular activities...
A 1000-word essay in English on a historical or topical subject of the candidate's choice. The essay must demonstrate the candidate's ability to develop a clear argument and analysis in response to a question in the humanities and social sciences (history, economics, law, political science, sociology, etc.).
A jury of Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA professors will examine and grade the application.
Second stage: maintenance (April 29 and 30, 2024)
The admissions jury selects eligible candidates for interviews, which take place online in English. The jury may ask candidates about their background, personal goals, the above-mentioned essay and any other topical international issues.
Students admitted to Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA cannot defer their admission to the following year.

- Secondary school leaving certificate ONLY if already obtained.
- Official transcript of your last two years of high school (1 PDF) - with certified translation in English or French
- Optional: official university transcript (if applicable) - with certified translation in English or French
- Curriculum Vitae (1 page) in English
- A cover letter describing the student's background, reasons for applying, extracurricular activities and commitments, and any other relevant information (300 words maximum).
- Official English language certification (TOEFL 95 / IELTS 6,5 / TOEIC "listening and reading" (945) & "speaking and writing" (360) / Cambridge Certificate B2 minimum)
