A lasting commitment

Open Science: sharing, disseminating, making accessible

Open Science aims to make scientific production accessible to all, without financial, legal or technical barriers. It encourages the free dissemination of publications, research data, source codes and methods, in order to promote the sharing of knowledge, the transparency of scientific work and innovation.

Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA is fully committed to this approach, in line with the National Plan for Open Science and the recommendations of major research organizations and funding bodies.

Our commitment to Open Science

Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA affirms its commitment to accessible, transparent and shared science. This commitment is reflected in concrete, official actions designed to promote the free dissemination of knowledge. In particular, we have :

  • Created and signed in February 2023 Open Science Charterwhich formalizes our principles and commitments in terms of disseminating scientific results.
  • Signed the Appel de Jussieu in 2017 for open and equitable science, which encourages the development of alternative publishing models accessible to all.
  • Encouraged open access to publications, notably through the creation of the HAL Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA collection.
  • Provided financial support for national and international Open Science initiatives (DOAJ, DOAB, Sparc Europe, Scoss,... or via the Documentation Center's subscriptions to the Érudit and OpenEdition platforms).
  • Set up awareness-raising, support and Education initiatives for our entire scientific community.
  • Developed monitoring tools, such as the Open Science Barometer, to measure and promote progress.

Open Science is an essential lever for boosting the visibility and impact of research, while contributing to a more equitable and responsible circulation of knowledge.

Through these commitments, Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA actively contributes to more open, ethical and accessible research.

HAL Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA

The HAL collection at Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA brings together all the scientific publications submitted by our researchers to the HAL (Hyper Articles en Ligne) platform, a national open archive.

This collection enhances the Institute's scientific output by making it visible and accessible to all. It is fully in line with our Open Science approach, facilitating free access to research results.

HAL

What is the HAL collection used for?

  • Bring together the Institute's scientific publications in a single space.
  • Increase the visibility of our research teams' work.
  • Facilitate free access to articles, theses, papers, etc.
  • Contribute to the preservation and dissemination of knowledge.

Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA strongly encourages its entire scientific community to deposit their work in HAL, in order to enhance the visibility and impact of research, while respecting the rights of authors and publishers.

Access to the HAL Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA collection

Personalized support

The Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA Documentation Center is setting up a support system to encourage the deposit of publications on HAL. Open Science Barometer

Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA is committed to Open Science, which aims to make research results accessible to all. The Open Science Barometer (OSB ) measures the openness of scientific publications produced by our researchers.

This tool provides reliable indicators on the proportion of open-access publications, and enables us to track the Institute's progress in the free dissemination of knowledge. It is in line with national and European priorities in favor of Open Science.

The Barometer makes it possible to :

  • Track the open access rate of publications.
  • Encourage the use of open archives such as HAL.
  • Promote the efforts of research teams.
The results of the BSO are updated regularly and help to guide the Institute's
    actions.

You can also consult the national Open Science Barometer to compare our data with those observed at the national level: https://barometredelascienceouverte.esr.gouv.fr

Mir@bel, an active contribution to Open Science

Our commitment to the Mir@bel network and Open Science

Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA has affirmed its commitment to Open Science by actively contributing to the creation in 2009 and subsequent development of tools and systems to facilitate open access to scientific publications. As such, it was one of the founding members of the Mir@bel network, and is now co-pilot (currently with Sciences Po Lyon, ENTPE and MSH Dijon under the aegis of the MSH network).

Mir@bel

Mir@bel (Mutualisation d'Informations sur les Revues et leurs Accès dans les Bases En Ligne) is a collaborative project born of the desire of several institutions, including our Institute, to make access to scientific journals more visible and transparent, particularly those distributed in open access. Today, the network federates over 120 partner institutions, mobilized to improve the visibility of scientific journals and the transparency of conditions of access to content.

Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA has been an active supporter of this initiative since its inception, making a concrete contribution to its development. This commitment is part of a strong institutional policy on Open Science, illustrated by active support for national projects. The Institute and the other co-pilots have won calls for projects from the Fonds National pour la Science ouverte (FNSO) 2 and 3, and are currently applying for FNSO 4, to support the development of tools and services for open research.

Through these actions, Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA confirms its role as a historic player committed to a science that is more open, transparent and accessible to all.
