Integration and Change in the Mediterranean and Middle East (MMO) distance learning course

The "Mediterranean and the Middle East" distance-learning diploma specialization (EAD) is directly inspired by the face-to-face system. The IEP diploma is awarded in two years (A4 & A5). The course enables students to specialize geographically (in one or more countries within the geographical area of the course) and professionally.

Presentation

The "Mediterranean and the Middle East" distance-learning diploma specialization is directly inspired by the classroom system.

The IEP diploma is awarded in two years (A4 & A5).

The first year of the MMO EAD program is an introductory year of general training, marked by an internship in the first semester, followed by a second semester devoted to fundamental studies. The second year consists of a more specialized first semester, followed by an internship/thesis in the second semester.

Teaching materials for the semesters are made available via an e-learning platform (Chamilo). Students also benefit from dedicated administrative and pedagogical support.

Table-top exams will be held at the end of the semester at Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA. A make-up session will be organized at the end of August.

The 4th year of the MMO program consists of 60 credits, as does the 5th year.

The course offers a wide range of career opportunities in a number of fields: diplomacy, expertise, consultancy, humanitarian action and various government ministries (notably homeland security and national security).

Diplomacy and international organizations are one of the main outlets for the MMO distance learning course. These include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, embassy counselors and secretaries, competitive examinations for managers in the Middle East, the Ministry of Defense and other public administrations involved in international action and cooperation.

The international activities of local authorities also offer opportunities for students on this course.

What's more, this training can lead to a career in the private sector, providing expertise and advice to multinational companies, chambers of commerce, foundations, consulting firms and think tanks.

Last but not least, humanitarian action and migration issues are a major outlet for MMO distance learning students.
