Conference: Iraq today in the regional context

Don't miss the lecture by Chérine Chams El-Dine, Associate Professor and Vice-Coordinator of the French-speaking section at Cairo University, and Associate Researcher at the CESSP, who, invited by Daniel Meier (holder of the Junior Professor Chair), will review the current issues facing Iraq in its regional context. 

 


A doctor in political and social sciences, Chérine Chams El-Dine's research focuses on the survival strategies of Arab authoritarian regimes, the composition of political and economic elites, popular mobilization and the emergence of new players.

 

In this talk, she will look back at the current issues facing Iraq and how they fit into the current regional context, examining the political, economic, social and geopolitical changes taking place.
