Pedagogical innovation at the service of student creativity: the CultureLab Shuffle success story

Last Tuesday, November 18, Alixe, Iloma, Garance and Juliette, students in their 5thᵉ year of the Cultural Project Management (DPC) course, presented CultureLab Shuffle, their activity devised as part of the Cultural Project Management course run by Anna Jeannesson, English teacher and International Mobility Manager. It's a project management module focused on acquiring skills in managing artistic projects. A flipped classroom format enables students to design and deploy a project management simulation to develop professional English language skills, teamwork and communication skills.

What is CultureLab Shuffle?

Based on the rules of the game, students had to imagine their own cultural project from a deck of cards. In groups, they imagined a cultural event from A to Z: type, artistic disciplines, activities, date, location, values, mediation, partners, audience... all within a fictitious budget of €5,000.

The principle of the game is simple: lay the cards on the table and have them interact to build a mind map that serves as the basis for the project.

In the second stage, the various groups had to put their ideas into practice by constructing a structured schedule and budget for their project. An activity that challenged students to come up with viable projects in record time.

Well done to the students for a brilliantly executed exercise!
