Tuition fees at Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA from academic year 2024-2025

Since 2016, Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA has been working to make its tuition fees fairer. The decision of our Board of Directors on December 7, 2021 will make Education of Excellence accessible according to each family's means.

As is already the case for 8 of France's IEPs, fees will be modulated according to income. This will be done by applying a percentage to the family's RFR, based on one tax share.

Consequently, registration fees, known as "School Fees", will be set according to the following scale:

FAQ

The RFR is an amount calculated by the tax authorities, and corresponds to the total income of a tax household (in the case of separate declarations by spouses, the two RFRs should be added together). Your RFR is shown on your N-1 tax notice for N-2 income.

For the 2026–2027 tax year, you will need to use the taxable income (RFR) listed on your 2025 tax bill for income earned in 2024.

The footer of each tax notice shows the number of tax units. To determine the bracket in which you fall, divide your reference tax income by the number of tax units.

here for full regulations on registration fees
For tax residents of the European Economic Area (outside France), please consult the list of specific documents required: here

The following will remain exempt from tuition fees:

  • Recipients of CROUS need-based scholarships (the provisional scholarship notification for 2026–2027 must be included with the registration application).
  • French government scholarship holders
  • Students who are wards of the nation
  • Students with disabilities of 80% or more
  • People seeking asylum, enjoying subsidiary protection or with refugee status
  • Idex grant holders
  • Graduate School scholarship holders (international exchange students)
  • Eiffel scholarship holders
  • winners of the "Prépa talents" scheme

This sliding scale of fees will apply from year 1 to year 5, only for the IEP diploma in Initial Education , and in the classroom. It will not apply to EAD (distance learning) courses.
Find out more here the registration fees document applied by the school

A student’s personal tax assessment will be taken into account only in very specific cases.
In the event of a change in circumstances and under specific conditions, the IEP Exemption Committee may grant a partial or full exemption from tuition fees, subject to the submission of supporting documentation
Estimate the amount of your tuition fees

Your RFR is listed on your tax notice for the previous year (N-1) based on income from the year before last (N-2). Example: For the 2026–2027 school year: the 2025 tax notice based on 2024 income.

Excluding CVEC and special cases

Students whose parents file their taxes in a country within the European Economic Area should refer to the document listing the required documents: Policy for students whose tax residence is in the European Economic Area

Students whose parents report all of their income outside of a country in the European Economic Area (EEA) are subject to the maximum tuition fee of €6,300 (to which national fees may be added for certain of our dual-degree programs, such as CPI and Journalism).

Certain students (high-level athletes, high-level artists, students with disabilities recognized by the Université Grenoble Alpes Service Accueil Handicap, students with special difficulties or other specific situations, particularly those of salaried students) are entitled to special study arrangements.

Upon request to the Department of Studies, students can benefit from special arrangements and, in certain cases, complete one year of study over two academic years.

Change of first name and/or title procedure

The use of a customary first name, even if it has not yet been changed in the civil register, is authorized by recommendation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research for certain university documents that are intended to be publicized.

The use of a customary first name will therefore be made easier for anyone who so requests.

If you would like to change your first and/or middle name, here's how:

1) Send the dedicated form (click here to download) and copy the registration department: contact-inscription@iepg.fr

2) If your change of forename and/or civil status has been approved by the courts, your request must be accompanied by a copy of the court decision.

An e-mail will be sent to you as soon as the change is effective. To comply with regulations, it is not possible to use the usual first name on all administrative documents. Certain documents cannot be changed unless the student's marital status has been changed by a court of law: these are mainly individual documents that affect the student's situation with regard to his or her course of study: diploma, work/doctoral contract, transcript of grades, certificate of completion, certificate of school attendance.

The change of first name and/or civil status procedure is not official or definitive.

If you wish to make this change officially, you must contact the registry office.

In the event of a change of first name in the civil status of a graduate, the establishment, if so requested, will reissue the diploma initially issued with the old first name. Article 60 of the French Civil Code states that: "Any person may ask the civil registrar to change his or her forename. The request is submitted to the registrar of the place of residence or the place where the birth certificate was drawn up. In the case of a minor or an adult under guardianship, the request is submitted by his or her legal representative. The addition, deletion or modification of the order of first names may also be requested.
