Can democratic innovations really improve political trust?

Political trust, considered to be a key factor in the stability of democratic regimes, is today giving rise to growing concern about the future of representative democracies. This round-table discussion will identify the factors that strengthen or weaken citizens' trust in political institutions. Particular attention will be paid to the role played by democratic innovations and institutionalized mechanisms in this process, drawing on the reflections and concrete examples of the expertise of researchers in sociology and political science.

This event, organized as part of the European TRUEDEM* project, will enrich the debate on ways to revitalize citizen trust, and provide input for the deliverables to be submitted to the partners and the European Commission.
