The Clinique du Droit label
It is a "transmasters" program, with students from different courses (European Governance, Administrative and Judicial Careers, International Public Policy, Worlds of the Middle East). The label is seeking partnerships with various institutes, and has set up initiatives with the American NGO Scholars at Risk.
The label
Theoretical training comprises 33 hours of classes and covers French and European asylum law: analysis of the procedures for granting international protection under the Geneva Convention, and study of the criteria for issuing subsidiary protection under the European legal framework. It also covers administrative law on foreign nationals: study of placement in administrative detention centers, conditions for issuing obligations to leave French territory, house arrest, issuance of residence permits.
This theoretical training is provided by magistrates from the Grenoble Administrative Court, lawyers specializing in immigration law and public law lecturers and researchers.
Practical training consists of interviews conducted by students in pairs with lawyers and asylum seekers, throughout the year: these interviews, based on a questionnaire, will be transcribed by the students and analyzed: study of the facts, confrontation with legal rules, geopolitical research. Feedback is given to the teacher every 15 days, and then forwarded to the lawyer present at the interviews. Connections with various lawyers and associations helping asylum seekers are being set up to support these interviews.
The final assessment consists of a dissertation on one of the issues relating to immigration law.
