As part of the Social Inclusion Program and the "Cordées de la Réussite" initiative, Sciences Po Grenoble-UGA organizes the Political Photography Contest each year, in which six middle schools from the Grenoble School District participated.
The project presentation days took place on March 10 and 24, 2026. These events gave middle school students the opportunity to meet and interact with students from Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA, tour the facilities and campus, and more. They presented their socially conscious photographs to a jury composed of photographers, journalists, members of the Déclics’ association, and librarians.
At the end of each day, the jury awarded three prizes.
The Political Photography Award recognized the photographs “Healing Night” and “40% Off, 0% Dignity” for their visual impact, their wordless message, and their apt titles.
The Oral Presentation Award was given to the groups that, in the jury’s opinion, presented and defended their work with the greatest originality and eloquence. The students’ public speaking skills and their ability to persuade were highlighted. The winning groups were “Freedom Under Surveillance” and “Together, We Will Save: A Lifesaving Act.”
The “Special Jury Prize” has finally been awarded: congratulations to Savouret Middle School for the photograph “Mercosur: Starving the Countryside to Feed Capitalism” and to Diois Middle School for the photograph “The Bitter Taste of Happiness.”
The winning groups presented a comprehensive project: innovative photography, compelling explanations, and a strong sense of commitment were all on display. The classes from Savouret and Diois each won a field trip.
This year, the Political Photography Contest offered an additional prize. Faculty members, administrative staff, and students were invited to vote for their favorite photograph. After all the votes were tallied, the photograph titled “Santa Claus Is a Jerk” won the Sciences Po Grenoble–UGA Community Prize. Congratulations to the students at Collège du Diois for their entry.
