Olti CERKINI, a student from Kosovo
Originally from Kosovo, Olti CERKINI is currently a first-year student at Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA.
Following an accident that left him quadriplegic, he moved to France four years ago. Between learning French, navigating a new educational system, and adjusting to a new environment, he is gradually shaping his academic plans.
Despite these challenges, he earned his high school diploma, specializing in History, Geography, Geopolitics, and Political Science (HGGSP) and Foreign Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (LLCE). Having grown up in Kosovo, a country marked by a complex recent history, he developed an interest in history, geopolitics, and international relations at a very early age. In high school, he participated in several Model United Nations conferences, including the NUSAB in Annecy—an experience that reinforced his desire to pursue a career in these fields.
Before enrolling at Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA, Olti CERKINI joined the POS-POPH program (Program for Social Inclusion and Inclusion of People with Disabilities). This program allowed him to prepare for the entrance exam while also gradually getting to know the institution, its academic methods, and student life. Thanks to personalized support and interactions with students, faculty, and the program staff, he gained confidence and began his studies at Sciences Po Grenoble with a better understanding of the school. This experience reaffirmed his decision to pursue his studies at Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA.
Today, Olti is particularly interested in the European Union’s foreign policy and contemporary geopolitical issues. During his Education, he hopes to explore these topics in greater depth so that he can eventually pursue a career in the field of international relations.
