Amélie ARTIS, Head of the Social Economy Development & Expertise Track
Amélie Artis, a professor of economics, examines the place and role of social and solidarity economy enterprises (associations, cooperatives, mutuals) engaged in economic activities across various sectors. She analyzes the specific characteristics and dynamics of these enterprises in specific sectors (finance, consumer goods, energy, mobility, circular economy) and their role in sectoral and regional regulations. Her work is structured around three main areas: the specific characteristics of SSE enterprises across various sectors, which shed light on cooperatives as an institutional form of collective enterprise and then situate them within territorial dynamics.
His research methodologies are primarily qualitative in nature, though he also experiments with mixed-methods approaches (comparative qualitative analysis, or QCA, and multiple factor analysis).
Her areas of expertise include: (1) an institutionalist analysis of collective organizations such as cooperatives, associations, and mutual societies; (2) an approach focused on sector-specific regulations; and (3) a territorialized approach to organization and regulation. She is developing research areas that examine these organizations within the context of climate change and social justice issues.
