Language and Methodology Peer Tutoring Program: “It’s about opening up to the world… but at Sciences Po”

Nearly 200 students from some 30 countries are participating in the “Language and Methodology Peer Tutoring” program this semester. Through this program, international students receive language and academic support, while their tutors, in turn, develop new skills and gain exposure to other cultures.

Tilde is an international student (in the center of the photo). Quentin and Enora are her tutors. Together, they participate in the “Language and Methodology Peer Tutoring ” program at Sciences Po Grenoble - UGA. How does it work? The program connects international students with tutors—primarily French, but not exclusively—to foster mutual linguistic, academic, and cultural enrichment.

For international students, tutoring provides valuable support as they navigate French university life. It allows them to receive guidance with their academic studies in French, as well as language assistance tailored to their needs. The experience is just as rewarding for the tutors. Supporting their peers allows them to gain valuable initial experience in teaching their own language and providing academic support, while also building new international and intercultural relationships.

The program’s success continues this year, and the adventure doesn’t end there: new groups will be formed in the second semester, offering another opportunity to take part in this experience of exchange and sharing.
