Session 1: Monday, October 13 12:30 - 14:00 / Amphi F
AI in healthcare: diabetes reveals a North-South divide
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is playing an increasingly important role in healthcare: early diagnosis algorithms, automated administration of chronic treatments, miniaturized and more efficient medical devices. These innovations hold out the promise of more precise, more personalized medicine, but they also reveal a deep technological divide between high-income countries and low- and middle-income countries.
Diabetes is an excellent tracer of this technological divide. Through the example of the use of AI in the prevention and management of diabetes, we will explore the challenges of this technological revolution and the fractures it may entail for healthcare systems and patients between countries in the North and South.
By Nina Tousch of the NGO Santé Diabète

Lobbying and democracy: the crisis of political legitimacy, the example of Nutriscore
With Professor Serge Hercberg, founding father of Nutriscore, Stéphane Besançon (NGO Santé Diabète) and a lobbying expert, this round table will reveal the battle of influence surrounding public health policies. The Nutriscore example will serve as a prism for analyzing the difficulty of reconciling scientific expertise, economic interests and political decision-making. The discussion raises a central question: how can democratic trust be restored when health is at the heart of industrial power struggles?
By Stéphane Besançon of the NGO Santé Diabète, Pr. Serge Hercberg founding father of Nutriscore and Elisa Jourde, CEO and founder of FoodPrint
Session 4: Thursday, October 16, 5:30 - 7:30 pm / Amphi A
